Chronobiological Safety Compliance – Position Paper
This position paper is the first to comprehensively address the question of whether working hours, in their current form, pose a safety risk in the context of occupational safety and whether they should be taken into account in risk assessments with regard to individual chronotypes. My primary aim in this paper is to initiate a discussion on this issue.
The position paper was sent in July 2026 to all workers’ compensation associations, trade publications on occupational safety, as well as occupational health management and human resources departments, and academic and political expert committees.
